Feedback on Berlin Conference
- Poster Sessions: Suggestions to improve organization, timing, and interaction. Ideas included:
- Defined start and end times.
- Limiting the number of slides.
- Using bells to indicate time to switch posters.
- Pre-session instructions and on-site moderation.
- Allowing presenters to use their own laptops for demonstrations (TBD).
- Overall Event Feedback: Discussion on the importance of poster sessions for networking, presenting niche topics, and providing flexible feedback.
Planning for 2026 Conference
- Location: Sorrento, Italy.
- Ideal conference location with ample space for networking, plenary sessions, breakouts, workshops, and poster presentations.
- Dates: March 10-12, 2026.
- Call for Content: Opens June 2, 2025, closes October 17, 2025.
- Abstract submission process and importance of timely submissions.
- Steering Committee meeting to review abstracts on November 3, 2025.
Abstract Submission Process
- Criteria for Selection: Balance of papers across functionality, experience levels, and industries.
- Feedback on Abstracts: Importance of clear and understandable abstracts. Suggestions for metadata tags indicating demo presence, scripting, and level of detail.
Steering Committee Participation
- Conflict of Interest: Discussion on whether Steering Committee members should submit abstracts. Consensus to avoid conflicts of interest by not allowing submissions from committee members.
Next Steps
