The primary need, that he’s expressed, is to preserve the irregular axis labels. Sounds like his data may be collected at irregular intervals. In the example provided, there is 31 days worth of data in the first time period, and 16 days worth in the next two. If we could get the other features (big dots, small bins, density curves) that would be a plus.
Thanks,
Mia

What are the features that need to be preserved? Big dots? Black color? Small Bins? Smooth density curves? Irregular axis labels? Connected lines joining at edge instead of center of histogram? Title inside graph? Double-rows of axis labels? Overlapping histograms?
In the original graph, it looks like all the date differences are at multiples of 8 days, so a data values every 8 days should be enough to get proper spacing. We don’t handle histograms or violin plots along a continuous X axis, but box plots are supported.

Mia,
To get the distributions spaced proportionally to their dates, just include all the dates in the data table. If there's no data for a date, just leave the data column blank (missing). Run your same script on the data table I attached. (You'll probably want to change the x-axis scaling increment to avoid so many date labels.)

Erich

Hi, Mia,
This is really close to what I am looking for. Ideally the histograms would be spaced horizontally in proportion to the number of days between the dates rather than being equally spaced. In this example we have 31 days between 5/31 and 6/15 but 16 only days between 6/15 and 7/1.
Thanks for your help.
