On the job...
Peter plays a crucial role in enhancing our online store experience. "I’m a Magento developer," he said. "So I typically spend my day developing with my team to improve the JMP Store, occasionally helping with customer support."
His journey into web development began with a solid foundation in computer science. "I was a Computer Science major at Carolina! I had the most fun when coding, so choosing my major was pretty simple," he shares. "After graduation, I joined the Web Team as a contractor and helped build out the Korean website. John Jones (@JonesieAtJMP) kept me on full-time as a developer to help with the eCommerce project."
Among his favorite projects at JMP, Peter highlights his work on customer stories and price calculations. "When I first joined, I helped Roger Alford (@roger_alford) and Meg Hermes (@Meg_Hermes) with uploading customer stories to the web. I liked the

"I also helped the Store team set up price calculations on the Store. It was very tedious to test, but I learned a lot through them."
What Peter values most about working at JMP is the team and the environment. "My team, division, and the people I see daily in the halls," he said. "Having coworkers who play sports. And the awesome cafe."
For those starting in web development, Peter offers a unique perspective: "Occasionally, when my attitude towards work is unproductive, I give gratitude for anything, and it changes my perspective."
When it comes to the JMP Brand Pillars, Peter embodies 'Trust.' "I focus on being as reliable as my teammates are to me, and in turn to our customers," he said.
On the side...
Outside of work, Peter's passions are diverse and engaging. "I love to play volleyball! Larry LaRusso (@Larry_LaRusso) got me into playing a few years ago, and it’s consumed my mind," he said. "And church! I love to spend time with my church family. And I’m always grateful for quality time with my family."
A fun fact that might surprise many is his deep knowledge of a popular manga graphic novel. "I know pretty much every page of every chapter in my favorite book Slam Dunk," Peter revealed.
After a long day, Peter finds relaxation in movies. "I love to watch a movie, both at home or in theaters," he shared.
Peter's dedication to developing a seamless online experience and his reliable nature make him an asset to the JMP team. We're grateful to have him!
