summary:
Today's world has entered the era of big data. In the era of big data, there are two important indicators that can be used to judge whether an application meets the needs of big data - memory capacity and network bandwidth. About 20 years ago, the entire high-tech industry focused more on improving the computing power of the system. Every time Intel launched a new CPU, the entire high-tech industry was driven forward. Today, people are more concerned about data storage and transmission. Take the iPhone as an example. The price difference of the same generation of iPhones is only determined by the size of the iPhone's memory capacity. Memory, especially NAND flash memory, has been widely used in people's daily lives. From computers and mobile phones in personal applications to data centers and servers in enterprise applications, NAND flash memory provides these applications with more efficient, secure and low-power data storage methods. At the same time, the "big data" of these applications has also made memory grow into the branch with the largest market share in the entire semiconductor industry, accounting for nearly 1/3 of the total turnover of the entire semiconductor industry. Yangtze Memory is the first and only IDM company in China that has both NAND flash research and development and large-scale production capabilities. Yangtze Memory's planned production capacity for the next five years is 300,000 wafers per month. This also means that more than 1020 flash memory transistors are tested in Yangtze Memory's production plants every month. Accurate and efficient test data analysis will become one of the most important methods to promote R&D, stabilize production lines, and improve product yield, quality, and reliability. This demonstration will use several examples to illustrate how JMP software can assist Yangtze Memory's product R&D and future mass production.
Abstract:
When we get into to the age of big data, we look at two important indictors to measure how deep to get involved in this revolution – memory size and network bandwidth. About 20 years ago, was a time when most people in the high-tech industry were still talking about the “computing capability” and were excited about the releases of Pentium serials. Today, only memory size, 128GB, 256GB …, differentiates an iPhone price. People are now more interested in how data is stored and transferred. Memory, especially NAND flash, is widely utilized in an individual’s daily life. From computers to cell phones, from data centers to enterprise grade servers, NAND flash has helped different applications solve data storage problems with higher efficiency, higher security and lower power. At the same time, big data applications also drive the memory industry, making it the first segment in semiconductor, occupying a third of the total semiconductor market. YMTC is the first and only IDM Company in China to develop and manufacture NAND flash. Given the capacity target of YMTC, which is over 300K wafers per month, over 1020 transistors will be tested every month in YMTC’s factory. Accurate and efficient data analysis is one of the most important ways to help quickly develop new products, stabilize mass production line and improve yield, quality and reliability. A couple of examples will be introduced during the presentation on how JMP is utilized during YMTC’s product development stage, and how it can help in future mass production.
