Statistical analysis training for drug discovery researchers and examples of using JMP
Oncology Drug Discovery Research Department, Oncology Research and Development Center, Ono Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd.
To conduct efficient and good research, it is essential to have knowledge of correct experimental design and analytical techniques based on it. In our drug discovery department, we formed a circle of volunteers with the aim of improving analytical literacy, and have been actively studying with non-clinical statisticians. Although it is important to acquire analytical knowledge, it is not enough to be able to perform practical analysis. We need live data related to our work and tools to realize the knowledge we have learned. Therefore, we introduced JMP as a tool that is equipped with experimental design techniques and can visualize and analyze data interactively. As the circle members' learning progressed, the use of JMP in their work became more common, and the understanding of analysis deepened among those around them. Currently, the number of departments using JMP has increased, and the introduction of JMP Pro has also progressed. In this presentation, we will introduce the background to the formation of the circle, the teaching materials used, and current examples of JMP use.
