What inspired this Wish List Request?
The distribution type can be set as a column property for the Process Capability Platform, however in the Capability Summary Report, there isn't an option to display the distribution type used.
This introduces a lack of transparency in the reporting of data and requires a user to independently verify that the correct distribution was used by launching the Distribution platform for each variable with an assumed non-default distribution.
Please describe the new or improved feature or solution you would like to see.
Please add a column to the Capability Summary Table, in the Capability Capability Platform for reporting the distribution used for each variable.
What would the value be to you and/or other users if this new feature is provided?
Without this it's really easy to assume the correct distribution was used, or to lie about the distribution that was used to get the capability calculations.
For example, a process that should be normally distributed but wanders. If it is assumed that Ppk represents the normal distribution, but someone went shopping for the distribution that resulted in the highest Ppk. The performance could look a lot better but no one would be able to tell how they got the happy answer. And worse, not knowing the distribution that was used the result would be irreproducible in the distribution platform with the assumed normal distribution.
