Experimental Design and Multivariate Tools for Materials Selection: Beyond Attributes_Bill WorleySpeaker: Bill Worley , JMP Global Senior Technical Engineer
Topic: Experimental Design and Multivariate Tools for Materials Selection: Beyond Properties
summary:
This is a truly revolutionary technology that scientists and engineers should adopt in their daily work to improve products and processes. The speaker will describe how to use principal components and covariate experimental designs to select test options based on their physical, chemical, and/or biological properties. The talk will then use methods such as partial least squares and generalized regression to build predictive models based on salient attributes. These truly groundbreaking models are then feasible as long as the properties of the candidate material do not change. Once the model is established, for any new candidate materials, simply add their physical properties to the candidate table and use multidimensional scaling and other multivariate methods to see where they fall in the predictive model space.
