Since December 2015, it has been mandatory for workplaces with 50 or more employees to conduct stress checks, and small workplaces with fewer than 50 employees are required to make an effort to conduct stress checks and group analyses for each workplace. It is recommended that workplaces use the Simple Occupational Stress Questionnaire developed by a national research group for stress checks, and after conducting this survey, free analysis tools can be used to evaluate the stress state of individual workers, as well as the stress state of the entire workplace, departments, sections, work groups, etc. However, it is difficult to identify points for organizational improvement by using only free tools.
In this presentation, we will report on a case study of a group stress check analysis conducted at a small workplace using a new, newly developed, simplified occupational stress questionnaire (80 items) that added 23 items to the original. In order to reduce time and costs, we created our own online stress check response form, and used JMP to analyze the collected response data from 35 employees. Using JMP, it became possible to derive new knowledge in an exploratory and visual manner, and the key points for workplace improvement measures at the workplace surveyed were clarified.
