The presenter is a gastrointestinal surgeon, and has proposed optimal treatment methods for gastric cancer by clarifying scientific facts using JMP. 1. For early gastric cancer containing undifferentiated components, surgical treatment including lymph node dissection should be considered (J Exp Clin Cancer Res. 2011;30:117). 2. After endoscopic treatment of early gastric cancer, if horizontal tumor exposure is histologically observed, additional resection should be performed, and if venous invasion or deep invasion to the submucosa or middle layer is found, surgical treatment should be considered (Gastroenterol Res Pract. 2013;427405). 3. Combined splenic resection does not contribute to improving the prognosis of upper gastric cancer (Anticancer Res. 2013;33:277-282). 4. Laparoscopic total gastrectomy and intracorporeal anastomosis are as safe as or safer than open surgery (Surg Endosc. 2014;28:1929-1935). ⑤In gastric cancer, the prognosis is significantly worse if there are six or more cancer cells in 7.5 ml of blood (World J Gastroenterol. 2016;22:10232-10241).
In this presentation, I would like to concretely demonstrate, including actual operations, how to use JMP to extract meaningful information from the large amount of clinical data.
