Anyone know the specifics for how control chart limits are calculated, specifically for the EMP Average Control charts when doing an MSA? It isn't readily apparent to me, and I can't find it in Help. Customer is asking.
Thanks!
I think Mia covers some of the details on the EMP in the STIPS Quality Module. You might have a look there in the course notes. She might also provide some info on a primary source. I think the EMP method is from Wheeler...but not 100% sure on any of that.

EDIT: The book is Evaluating the Measurement Process (EMP III) by Wheeler - that's if you want to go that far down the rabbit hole. Should have been on of the books that showed up in your standard kit (green book about an inch thick). There are several flow charts and details. the STIPS summary is probably more accessable.
The average and range charts in EMR are the same as the Xbar & R in Control Chart Builder (the data used, Wafer, is from JMP Sample Data Library):
The statistical details for the control limits are https://www.jmp.com/support/help/14-1/control-limits-for-xbar-and-r-charts.shtml#1148994
