Hello all,
I'm a novice in JMP and I've encountered an apparent issue with a series of histograms I have generated describing the frequencies of quantitative measurements in several qualitative contexts. My problem is, in all of my distribution reports, the quantitative value counts for all of my histograms are arranged in ascending order of whole number values, followed by ascending order of non-whole (decimal) values. For instance, the levels of one of my histograms may read: [5, 6, 9, 14, 22, 23, 6.3, 8.5, 10.25, 13.5, 22.75]. This order also appears in the frequency tables generated alongside the histograms.
I would like to be able to generate histograms and frequency tables with the levels arranged in ascending order of value regardless of whether or not they are whole (so the x-axis would read: [5, 6, 6.3, 8.5, 9, 10.25, 13.5, 14, 22, 22.75]). Unfortunately, I cannot find any way to either edit my existing reports to use this system or generate new reports using this system.
As I am only just becoming acquainted with this software, an interactive answer would be preferable to a scripted one, since I haven't yet learned how to implement those. For reference, I've included the script of one such distribution below; all of the charts I am generating follow this basic structure. Any help is much appreciated. Thank you!
Distribution(
Nominal Distribution(
Column( :Rim Diameter ),
Horizontal Layout( 1 ),
Vertical( 0 ),
Show Counts( 1 )
),
Where(
:Operation == "C" & :Unit == "0AA" & :Paste == "G" & :Vessel Form == "B"
),
SendToReport(
Dispatch(
{"Rim Diameter"},
"Distrib Nom Hist",
FrameBox,
{Frame Size( 541, 121 )}
),
Dispatch(
{"Rim Diameter", "Frequencies"},
"",
TableBox,
{Sort By Column( 1, 1 )}
)
)
) EDIT: I realized my quantitative variable was not labeled numerically in the data table; correcting this seems to have solved the issue. Once again, I'm terribly new to the software. Thank you for taking the time, though!
