Today, we're delighted to introduce you to Macy Shen (@Macy_Shenxm), a Senior Talent Acquisition Specialist.
On the job...
Macy is a driving force in building JMP’s growing workforce. "There's really no typical 'day', but I do have a typical week,” Macy said. “It starts with reviewing the hiring pipeline and prioritizing roles that need attention. Some days might be packed with interviews or focus on sourcing candidates. I also set time aside to follow up on the hiring process and handle unexpected challenges. At the end of the week, I usually do a wrap-up to reflect on my work and plan for next week."
Her path to Talent Acquisition is rooted in a genuine interest in people. "I studied sociology in college, and I've always been interested in people," she said. "My first job was in HR, so I think it comes naturally."
What Macy enjoys most about working at JMP is the global aspect of her role. "I love working with different people in different countries," she said.
For those starting in Talent Acquisition, Macy offers simple yet profound advice: "Keep being curious about people."
When it comes to representing JMP’s brand, Macy sees her role as intrinsically tied to promoting JMP. "Part of my job is to tell people who we are since we work hard to hire excellent people to join us.” Macy say’s the "Trusted" pillar of the JMP brand resonates most strongly with her.

"I'm passionate about surfing the internet and keeping up with the news," she said.
A fun, unexpected fact about Macy is her hidden talent. "I can whistle," she shares.
After a long day, Macy prefers a relaxing evening. "My favorite way to unwind is to have a drink, but only when the next day is a rest day," she says.
