What inspired this wish list request?
Intel has started to use the Protection feature in Excel to add “Confidential” restrictions that validate the user’s credentials.
Unfortunately, the Protection in Excel prevents them from opening the file in JMP even when they have the correct credentials. They get an error opening the file. Which is anticipated.
What is the improvement you would like to see?
Native support in JMP to open Excel files with Restricted access the same way that the file can be opened in Excel
Why is this idea important? Without this capability Intel cannot use JSL to open Excel files with Restricted access. That means Intel will have to move their automation out of JMP and into Excel.
