After 28 years at JMP, we say a fond farewell to Chuck Boiler (@chuck_boiler), a long-time colleague and friend, who is embarking on his well-deserved retirement. Chuck's contributions to JMP have been immense, leaving a lasting impact on the company and its employees.
During the recent Sales Kickoff, Nicholas Shelton (@nick_shelton) led a tribute, highlighting Chuck's unique ability to connect with people quickly and deeply. He shared photos showcasing Chuck's involvement in various JMP activities, from staffing customers at Discovery to enjoying Guinness with colleagues on an Elite trip in Ireland. One photo even showed Chuck's creative side, with a graph builder plot made of cans and donations. Another captured his active listening skills and the confidence he instilled in his colleagues.
Nick also spoke of Chuck's dual role as both an SE and an SE manager, emphasizing his helpfulness, guidance, and advocacy for his team. He described Chuck as a "Superman" who always had answers and support to offer.
Michael Scruggs (@Michael_Scruggs) shared an anecdote about Chuck's remarkable recruiting efforts, suggesting that he single-handedly brought dozens of people to JMP.
Curt Hinrichs (@curt_hinrichs) praised Chuck's kindness, humility, and thoughtfulness, highlighting his impact on JMP's business and his contributions to the "Chuckinar" webinars and the "JMP Essentials" book.
Lori Casto (@lori_casto) echoed these sentiments, calling Chuck the "heart and soul" of JMP and sharing his ability to brighten even the toughest days. She recalled his dedication and his knack for offering unique perspectives. Bonnie Rigo (@bonster) shared a more personal tribute, reminiscing on 30 years of stories and expressing how much she will miss Chuck.
While Chuck's departure is bittersweet, colleagues are excited for him to enjoy his retirement. Nick joked about Chuck's plans to spend time at his cabin in Oregon, travel to New Orleans or Las Vegas, and perhaps even experience Oktoberfest in person. The overall sentiment was one of gratitude for Chuck's contributions and well wishes for a happy and fulfilling retirement filled with whatever adventures he chooses. The good news is that Chuck will be joining the team again in April for one last send-off at Reunion, so it's not goodbye, but rather, "see you later."
Chuck's last day at JMP is Feb. 28. Be sure to share stories and wish him well in the comments below!
