overlay map

Question

I want to create an overlay map that consists of the internal US state boundaries and additional data from NOAA in the form of Lat and Lon points, that I can then super impose my site data which is a series of lat and lon coordinates. Essentially I want to map the track of storms with regards to a data base of installations that are distributed over the us. Currently I can overlay the storm track on the US background map or the installation sites, but not both at the same time.

Hi @D_Meakin. I am not sure if I am getting it completely so I think it would be great if you could provide a sample JMP dataset or a screenshot that shows the layout and it's close to the desired outcome of the map.

I had a look at the solution you suggested it did not quite meet my needs. I need to create overlay map based on a data set of storm tracking data from NOAA. I have several factors to map, primarly wind speed. What is most important is showing the actual track of the storm based on Lat and Lon data pairs. This is the overlay map that I want to use along with US state outline map then plot my installation sites in the Graph.

I need guidence on creating the overlay map files from the tracking data.

Hi @D_Meakin . I found this post where they wanted to create Latitude Longitude overlay on a US map with Interstates in JMP.  Regarding overlaying this is another post about overlaying more than one variable in Graph Builder. Let me know if this answers your question.
