A new Home window appears each time you double-click a saved .jmp file. This issue occurs when file associations are not properly configured in your Windows environment, causing a new JMP session to launch every time you double-click a JMP file, such as a .jmp or .jrp file.
This occurs when you try to manually set file associations and select the JMP application that appears as a suggestion.
Do the following:
- Log in with an ID that has administrator privileges on the PC.
- Start the version of JMP you want to use as the default.
- Select [File] → [Preferences] from the menu bar.
- Click [Windows Only] in the Preferences Group list.
- Click the Reset Associations button.
- Verify that a message indicating the reset is displayed.
- Exit JMP, log out, and then log in with your usual ID.
- Perform steps 2 to 6.
- Exit JMP.
- In Explorer, right-click a .jmp file and select "Open with" -> "Choose another program."
- Check "Always use this app to open .jmp files."
- Click "More apps" → "Look for another app on this PC" and select " Select the "\jmp.exe" file.
