When you try to open an .xlsx file in JMP 12 on a Mac, you might get the message "An error occurred while opening this file" and the file might not open.
This error occurs when the name or full path of the .xlsx file you are trying to load contains double-byte characters, such as Japanese.
Please make sure the file name contains only alphanumeric characters, and place the file in a location where there are no folder names containing Japanese characters in the full path, and then load the file.
This issue is fixed in JMP 13.
