overview
This guide explains how to get started with JMP 18 and later if you're using JMP 17 or earlier, and explains how obtaining and managing licenses for JMP 18 and later versions differs from JMP 17.
Note:
This guide is intended for those with an annual JMP license or JMP subscription. If you have a JMP single-user license (no longer available for purchase), you will need to purchase a new license to use JMP 18 or later.
Differences from JMP 17 and earlier versions
In JMP 18 and later, the way you obtain installers and manage licenses has changed significantly from JMP 17 and earlier.

Differences in how to obtain the installer
Starting with JMP 18, customers will need to download the installer themselves from My JMP .
For JMP 17 and earlier, annual license customers could download the installer from their organization's JMP administrator and distribute it to their users. For JMP subscription customers, the installer was previously available from the JMP Subscription Management page.
For JMP 18 and later versions, both annual license and JMP subscription customers will need to obtain the installer from My JMP . For instructions on how to sign in to My JMP , please see here .
Note:
Before users of JMP 18 or later can download the installer from My JMP, they must be "approved" by their organization's software administrator. Please be sure to read the following information.

Differences in license management methods
In JMP 18 and later versions, who can use JMP is My JMP (Note: "approval" means that the software administrator has My JMP (This means that the software administrator must register the user's email address in advance.) This "approval" allows the software administrator to manage the users who use JMP, in other words, grant licenses to users.
In JMP 17 and earlier, customers with annual licenses managed their licenses by distributing a SID file (license file) sent by us to the JMP administrator in their organization only to those who used JMP within their organization. However, in JMP 18 and later, license management is handled by "approval," so SID files are no longer used. (Note: SID files do not exist in JMP 18 and later versions.)
For JMP subscription customers, license management was previously done using serial numbers. However, in JMP 18 and later versions, serial numbers are no longer used. My JMP License management will be carried out by "approving" above.
If you are using JMP 18 or later with a single user contract, the software administrator will usually be the JMP user, so please enter your email address. My JMP If you have a contract for multiple users of JMP 18 or later, the software administrator must approve the email addresses of JMP users, so anyone who wants to use JMP must be approved in advance by the software administrator of your organization.
