There are several ways to find the geometric mean for a column.
How to use the Distribution platform
Under Analyze > Distributions, select Display Options > Customize Summary Statistics from the red triangle in the column title bar and select the geometric mean as the statistic to display.
Using header statistics [JMP 18 and later]
Clicking the Σ icon on the row number of the data table displays statistics for each column. By default, the geometric mean (GeoM) is not displayed, but you can add it as a continuous statistic by right-clicking on any column header statistic, selecting Preferences, and then clicking the Header Statistics panel.
Using the Formula Editor
You can also easily set formulas using the formula editor.
Example 1: Row-wise geometric mean
Formula for calculating the geometric mean of variables: X1, X2, ..., X6 (based on the definition of the geometric mean)

To recreate the formula in this diagram, copy and paste the following into the formula editor:
Root( :X 1 * :X 2 * :X 3 * :X 4 * :X 5 * :X 6, 6 )
Formulas using the properties of logarithms

Select all columns from "X1" to "X6" in the column list in the formula editor, right-click and select "Combination" -> "Geometric Mean". This will add "Geometric Mean [X1, X2, X3, X4, X5, X6]", so click on it to set it.
To recreate the formula in this diagram, copy and paste the following into the formula editor:
Exp(
(Log( :X 1 ) + Log( :X 2 ) + Log( :X 3 ) + Log( :X 4 ) + Log( :X 5 )
+Log( :X 6 )) / 6
)
Example 2: Geometric mean for a variable (column)
Formula for calculating the geometric mean for the data of variable "Y" (based on the definition of the geometric mean)

The formula uses the Product, Subscript, Nrow, and Root functions.
To recreate the formula in this diagram, copy and paste the following into the formula editor:
Root( Product( i = 1, N Row(), :Y[i] ), N Row() )
Formulas using the properties of logarithms

A formula calculated by taking the logarithm of the geometric mean.
The formula is created using the Summation, Subscript, Nrow, Root, Log, and Exp functions.
To recreate the formula in this diagram, copy and paste the following into the formula editor:
Exp( Summation( i = 1, N Row(), Log( :Y[i] ) / N Row() ) )
