It can be created using the Graph Builder platform.
*The Chart platform that existed up to JMP 18 was removed in JMP 19.
The following procedure uses the JMP sample data "Analgesics.jmp" to display "Medicine" as a group, the average "Pain Severity" as a bar graph, and the standard error as a bar.
How to create a graph using Graph Builder
- Drop the variables that correspond to the groups into the "X" zone.
- Drop the continuous variable "Y" for which you want to calculate the mean and error into the zone.
- Right-click on the graph and select Points > Modify > Bars.
- Right-click on the graph again and select Bars > Error Intervals > Standard Error.

To change this bar graph to a line graph, right-click on an empty area of the graph and select Bars → Change to → Line.
