Professor at the Faculty of Engineering, Tokyo University of Science, and the Graduate School, Keio University. Professor at the Faculty of Management, Mejiro University. He continues to conduct research and teach data science as a visiting professor at the Institute of Statistical Mathematics. In his research, he proposes a new design paradigm called "super design" in the field of engineering, and in the field of social sciences, he proposes two-sided causal analysis and virtual experiments, which are new analytical methods. Meanwhile, during his time as a graduate student, he developed theories of competitive skiing (mainly slalom and giant slalom) and gave practical training to a university ski club for several years while conducting his specialized research, and published the contents of these in a book on competitive skiing theory. Based on this experience, he has been providing active data science education, which is a practical exercise-type statistical education, at universities, graduate schools, companies, and various seminars for about half a century. During his sabbatical, he developed research on super design at Yale University in the United States and developed a real teaching material, an assembled biplane paper helicopter. The former is the main theme of the author's research, and the latter is a full-scale real teaching material that can take more than a dozen variables (factors) and can handle quadratic models. In addition, we have developed paper gliders as highly advanced real-life teaching materials and coin shooting as a general-purpose real-life teaching material aimed at beginners to experts.
