Masayuki YokoyamaHe will be taking up his post at the Rokkasho Research Center of the National Institute for Fusion Science in April 2022. He is exploring ways to promote the use of data in nuclear fusion research and to advance research by extracting information from data, and is deepening collaboration with the Institute of Statistical Mathematics and related communities. He believes that statistical mathematics can be used to promote nuclear fusion research, particularly by conducting modeling that contributes to real-time control and the prediction and judgment required for it. Based on this idea, he published an article titled "Statistical Mathematical Nuclear Fusion Studies - Approaching Nuclear Fusion Research Topics Using Statistical Mathematics" in the Journal of Plasma Science and Nuclear Fusion Research (January 2023). The number of downloads in the three months after publication was the third highest for the year, and he is pleased to have received a positive response from young researchers such as graduate students. The starting point of this development is the use of JMP.
