As we reflect on JMP’s goals for 2025, let's examine closely how we approach social media this year. Our company mission is to “spread the use and impact of JMP products far and wide within the Science and Engineering communities.” One essential way we do this is through our online presence on social media platforms.
We each have unique roles within the company, and you may believe that talking about JMP online is only for the salespeople and the marketers.
I’m here to change your mind about that…
Everyone at JMP has a unique perspective on our company, our software, and the story we can tell. While social selling is a top priority for some people, we all have different perspectives that can and should be shared to promote JMP’s mission, vision, and company values.
Feeling lost on how to start making these connections online? Here are some tips and tricks to help you approach social media with fresh eyes in 2025:
- Find your people online. Think about your professional areas of expertise. Are you a salesperson, a pharma expert, or an academic guru? Use keywords to search for groups, professional organizations, and thought leaders in your field, and start paying attention to how they talk online. Engage with their content and use it as inspiration for writing your own posts. Establishing yourself as an expert in your field reflects well on you and JMP.
- Be a real person. Why does social media still hold such power today? It’s right there in the title. Social media is meant to be social. Don’t only use LinkedIn to share information about events that JMP is hosting. If we only use the platform as a billboard, we start to lose the authenticity that drives connections on social media. We are all drawn to authenticity, human connection, and things that show off real people, so let your online interactions reflect this. Show people real-life moments, your day-to-day interactions, and what it means to be part of JMP’s company culture.
- Don’t be afraid to try something new. Innovation drives engagement when it comes to social media. We want to see things from a new perspective and learn from the insights of our peers and colleagues. Spread holiday cheer in the form of a JMP screenshot, like Ben Barosso-Ingham (@Ben_Ingham94), or create a Bingo Board for your 2025 data analytics goals like Florence Kussener (@flo_kussener). Do you have an idea but aren’t sure how to pull it off? Don’t hesitate to reach out to your colleagues or the Corporate Communications team; we’d love to help you brainstorm a solution and to make sure you are following our style and branding guidelines.
- Take inspiration from your colleagues who are doing social media well. Here are some recent posts from JMPers around the world that we loved:
