In October, JMP participated in the Association for Manufacturing Excellence (AME) conference. This annual gathering brings together a diverse community of manufacturing professionals, including scientists, engineers, and executives, to explore the latest advancements in manufacturing technology and best practices.
Dan Valente, JMP's Director of Product Management, presented a keynote talk focused on the critical role of engineering efficiency in today's competitive manufacturing landscape, focusing on how JMP's solutions can help manufacturers optimize their processes, improve quality, and reduce costs.

Why does JMP attend these events?
The conference provides a valuable platform for JMP to gain a deeper understanding of the evolving challenges and opportunities facing manufacturers. It also allows JMP to connect with existing customers, build relationships with potential clients, and gather valuable feedback on their needs and pain points.
“By actively participating in the conference, JMP enhances its brand awareness within the manufacturing industry, positioning itself as a leader in data analysis and statistical discovery. It also gives us the opportunity to showcase our expertise and share insights with the broader manufacturing community,” Valente said.
Driving JMP sales and marketing
Pre-Sales Support Manager Nick Shelton also attended the conference and is involved with the AME organization. Shelton says JMP’s participation in AME has a direct impact on our marketing and sales efforts. “The conference provides opportunities to connect with potential customers and generate targeted leads, allowing us to showcase our software and demonstrate the value proposition to a wide audience of manufacturing professionals,” he said. “Direct interactions with customers enable JMP to build stronger relationships and gain valuable insights into their specific needs and challenges.”
Expanding JMP's presence
To further strengthen JMP’s presence within the AME community, Valente says he plans to continue active participation in future AME conferences. He suggests sharing case studies and best practices that demonstrate the successful application of JMP within the manufacturing industry continuously monitoring industry trends and identifying key challenges that JMP can address with its innovative software solutions.
“We need to think about presenting papers about JMP, the use of analytics, and continue to benchmark the trends within communities like AME,” Valente said. “What are they talking about? What are the high-priority conversations and topics? How do the problems that members share map to our product roadmap and priorities.”
Sales involvement
For JMP's sales team, the AME conference offers valuable opportunities for engagement. Shelton says Sales representatives can actively seek out speaking opportunities by submitting abstracts for presentations or co-presenting with customers. He also suggests collaborating with the marketing team to leverage conference sponsorships and booth opportunities that can maximize the impact of JMP's participation.
Shelton also encourages volunteering at conferences, such as leading workshops or participating in discussions. “At this year’s AME conference, I volunteered to lead an idea exchange on how best to harness technology. It was a great opportunity to hear firsthand the successes and losses around adopting new technologies in the industry,” he said. “Volunteering provides valuable networking opportunities and allows sales representatives to gain firsthand insights into the challenges facing manufacturing professionals.”
By actively engaging with the AME community and leveraging the insights gained from these events, JMP is well-positioned to continue driving innovation within the manufacturing industry and providing its customers with the tools they need to succeed in today's competitive market.
Well done to everyone involved. Loved hearing more about your journey into data analytics, @Daniel_Valente. (I never knew you had worked at the studio where Pet Sounds was recorded - very jealous). Stories like this are a great way to tell the world of science and engineering about the value of data analytics and JMP.
Great to have @Daniel_Valente and JMP be the Keynote speaker for such a great event. Conferences like this are a great opportunity to meet both current and prospective customers in a unique environment aiding the potential for growth and expansion. Excited to see our participation grow further with these type of events
