As we near the end of the year, let’s take a moment to celebrate some of our biggest wins!
First and foremost, the launch of JMP 18 and the new email verification and authorization system has gone well. While there have been some hiccups, we are pleased that it is being widely adopted and operating smoothly for the majority of customers.
Second, the Academic team has been integrated into User Enablement, and we are working together to ensure students, professors, and users alike have the tools they need to get the value of JMP.
While we were sad to say goodbye to Duane Hayes, I’m excited to work more closely with Wendy Murphrey, who has taken a firm grasp on the leadership of Tech Support and Engagement. I’m excited that she’s found Gary Catalfu to lead the Engagement team.
It’s also good to reflect on the successful user group program that the User Events team has built. User Groups around the world are a great way to build an active and engaged community of users. It’s wonderful to hear the success stories that users tell at these events. It’s also a great proving ground for Discovery papers and posters.
Take a look through the upcoming highlights below and make sure your contacts know what’s coming.

Education
We continue to work primarily on new on-demand modules to release in spring 2025, but Di Michelson took a few days to teach a Predictive Modeling course online in November, at the request of several key customers (including NXP and BASF). We had 90 registrants and at least 70 attended regularly over the several days that the course met. We always get very positive feedback from this course. One person said: “I have been trying to learn how to build models and all this machine learning/AI mumbo jumbo stuff for years. And not until I took your courses did everything click and finally start to make sense. I did not imagine I would learn this much and that it would make sense to me. You are a wonderful teacher! I can’t express how thankful I am for your courses!“

- The migration of JMP Student Edition to MyJMP (from Store), scheduled to go live shortly, greatly simplifies the download process. A new FAQ page to support Student Edition in MyJMP has been completed. Student Edition downloads have exceeded 31,000 since its launch in November 2023.
- The redesign of the Academic Case Study Library (www.jmp.com/cases) is now live. The new redesign allows filtering case studies by application/field, course area, and level. New case studies including, JMP063: Caught on Camera: Analyzing Camera Trap Data to Inform Conservation and JMP064: Variation in Semiconductor Etching Process will go live soon.
- Attended the Decision Sciences Institute meeting in Phoenix this weekend where Student Edition was well received. Kevin Potcner provided three talks on the program including a workshop on Predictive Modeling with JMP Student Edition. Several new spring term adoptions were secured.
Community
- Mastering JMP is having another successful year as shown in this graph which compares the registrations and attendees in 2024 vs. 2023.
- To improve the user experience and further promote learning events, we are in the process of consolidating the Mastering JMP content to the Learn JMP Events area of the Community. Currently, the registration of the Mastering JMP event occurs in one location (Learn JMP Events) while the content from the event lives in another location (Mastering JMP Library). In 2025 (or sooner), users will be able to register for a Mastering JMP event and then return to the same page to view the recording.
