Hi guys,
I made a DoE that had a primary goal (stability) and a secondary goal (Productivity). I've previously characterized productivity before with an initial DoE. A great model was developed from that data. This new DoE, I added an additional factor that was not previously considered. I KNEW this factor would have a large impact on productivity as it is an obvious primary contributor, but was totally uncertain of its impact on stability.
The stability model came back great. The productivity model was disastrous. The Adj R^2 was nearly non existent by the end of the model reduction, and the remaining term was the new factor that I added. (No outliers were detected by externally studentized residuals).
So, my question is, is the poor modeling capability explained by the fact that the primary factor had FAR more impact compared to the other factors, that the other effects were essentially undetectable?
