JMPers in Southeast Asia bonded during the first of four virtual team building events planned and hosted by Ida Rahim, Sr. Associate Inside Sales Account Representative. The sessions, which will continue over the next month, are an opportunity to build relationships and foster future collaboration.
Divine & intellectual activities
The theme of the first two sessions? Divine and intellectual activities. In session 1, participants shared in a brief meditation to a peaceful soundtrack and discussed their families and life motivations.
Some highlights:

Bass Masri is proud of his three daughters. Sarah-May is studying to become a primary school teacher, Zena-Rose is thinking about becoming a world class chef and Emily-Joy is going to play football for Australia’s Matildas. (@Bass_Masri)

Melisa Muhamad’s “minions” (@Melisa_Muhd)

Pin Hu and family celebrating the Year of the Tiger (@PIN)

Zhaobin Wang and his family a couple of years ago – his son is now taller than he is! (@Zhaobin)

Mun Keat Woon’s children range from age 5 to 14 and hold a variety of interests and hobbies. His family members’ names all start with V or W (except for Mun Keat, of course!). (@MK_Woon)

Murali Anandamurthy lives with an extended family of 14 (his brother and sister and their families). This is his nuclear family. (@Muralidhara)

Chandra Ramnarayanan's son and wife who is a banker turned homemaker. (@Chandramouli_R)

Kim Hui Lim with his mother (front row left), sister (back row left) and wife (front row right), whom he married last year after their wedding was delayed due to COVID. They are expecting a baby in June. (@lkimhui)

Bryan Yan’s son is now 15 years old and has been “the source of all my happiness and most of my anxiety,” he quipped. He’s now a cyclist and as tall as Bryan. (@BryanYan)

Gina Xie’s son is almost six years old, just lost five baby teeth and is a Lego lover. Her husband is a journalist – in the phone screenshot on the right you can see him covering the Olympics. (@GinaXie)

Ida is the seventh of eight kids, an experience she says taught her to be compassionate and work well with others – and to be rebellious for the sake of attention! She met her husband, who is from Nigeria, at university and has a son. (@IdaRahim)
Later they will give each other a glimpse of their hobbies and test their general knowledge with a trivia game.
Coming Up: Festival and collaboration
Sessions 3 and 4 are all about festival and collaboration. The team will:
- Dress up and share how they celebrate Eid al-Fitr/Hari Raya, which marks the end of the Islamic holy month of Ramadan.
- Pre-record performances with a partner and share their creativity with the larger group. (Rumor has it the team with the best performance will receive a surprise!)
- Attend an online brunch, during which they will share their favorite foods and talk about caring for their bodies with nutritious meals.
