What inspired this Wish List Request?
The text orientation on the X Group labels cannot currently be changed from horizontal to vertical.
Please describe the new or improved feature or solution you would like to see.
I'd like to see the same right-click menu for the Group X zone as currently exists for the Group Y zone, which allows the user to change text orientation:
What would the value be to you and/or other users if this new feature is provided?
When grouping many variables in the Group X zone, the text can become illegible, as in the screenshot below. Adding the ability to change the text orientation would make it easier to visualize data with many categories in the Group X zone.
Is this an external customer request?
Yes, a direct request from Rosemary Gerard at Sumco USA, who mentioned that at least a few others have run into this same problem. I helped her with one or two potential workarounds, but the workarounds weren't satisfactory. Rosemary has previously submitted this on the JMP Wish List and also asked that I put it on this internal wish list.

Is there a competitive software package that has this feature or solution that we should be aware of?
Well, it's a bit insulting to be sure, but PowerPoint can do it with an exported JMP graph:
Will this impact a renewal, expansion, or adoption at a customer, and does this put an account at risk if we do not address this?
I don't think so, but it is something oft-requested.
