I'm working on a post about code roasting to Scripters Club community page. First problem to solve: how should users send the scripts (private message in community? post to community? email (should we for example create some specific email account for this?))? Best would be to get them as .jsl files OR maybe as pastebin/github links. In best case we have exactly the same format as they have, as that is also big part of the roast. They could also be posted to community BUT people might not want to have their name associated with the code OR maybe we make it mandatory, that your name WILL be associated with the code?
========== SUGGESTION STARTS HERE ==========
Hello!
Next year scripters club will include code roast sections IF THERE IS INTEREST. In these sessions we will take your script and roast it while we go through it. We will also refactor the code based on our experiences how we think JSL should be written. Current idea is that this could be repeating thing in the sessions taking somewhere between 10-15 minutes (possibly alternate between "Code Roast" and "From the Community").
If you wish to submit your code to be roasted, you can:
- Add code directly here
- Provide us with github link to your code
- Provide pastebin link to your code
Keep in mind that we have limited amount of time for these sessions, so only submit fairly small scripts for now. If there is enough interest and we want to have full session (so use the whole hour) of this topic, we might be able to do that later in the year and have one larger script.
If you want to see what code roasting is, you can check out ArjanCodes videos from Youtube where he goes through some Python code, Code Roasts - YouTube
