The Asia-Pacific Systems Engineers (SE) Summit, held on November 11-12, 2024, at the COEX Convention Center in Korea, brought together 21 SEs and technical staff from China, Japan, India, Singapore, Malaysia, and Korea for two intensive days of collaboration, skill-building, and product knowledge enhancement.
The summit featured a mix of technical sessions, best-practice workshops, and networking opportunities, fostering cross-regional exchange and learning. Highlights included 30-minute presentations and panel discussions led by JMP’s R&D and Product Management experts—Daniel Valente, Christopher Gotwalt, Dieter Pisot, Brian Corcoran, Ryan Lekivetz, and Mia Stephens—who shared updates on technical advancements, strategic insights, and the product roadmap.
An interactive panel discussion with JMP’s R&D and Product Management teams explored industry trends, new JMP capabilities, and customer support strategies. The open Q&A session deepened SEs’ understanding of JMP’s priorities and evolving analytics needs. Team exercises and presentations further equipped SEs with practical technical sales assets, such as “1-click” demos and customer situation summaries, enhancing the clarity and impact of JMP demonstrations.
The summit provided an invaluable platform for SEs to connect, exchange knowledge, and learn from one another across the Asia-Pacific region. Many expressed their appreciation for the opportunity to engage directly with JMP’s R&D and Product Management teams, gain deeper insights into the product roadmap, and collaborate on innovative approaches to technical challenges. Beyond the technical sessions and workshops, the event fostered a sense of community, strengthening relationships and building a foundation for continued collaboration.

Mandy Xi – SE from China
“I would like to thank Phil for organizing this event. It was a valuable opportunity to learn from JMP's R&D and product teams about JMP 19 and the new features in JMP Live, including the Data Connector, the JMP-Python interface, Bayesian Optimization, and the transition of JSL to JMP Live. The commitment of everyone at JMP to improving the product is truly inspiring. Learning about various applications of JMP from SEs across the Asia Pacific region, especially regarding Python integration, was enlightening. I appreciated that this event allowed for a two-way exchange of ideas, enhancing our overall experience. I look forward to more opportunities to collaborate with my JMP colleagues in the future.”
Peimei Da – SE from China
“I really enjoyed the "aha moments" sharing from customers all across Asia, allowing me to polish my pitch to customers in demos. One talk from our amazing developers I particularly enjoyed is the "Bayesian Optimization" by Christopher Gotwalt, truly "JMP" the way to data-driven discoveries!”
Kim Hui Lim – SE from Singapore
“I think networking and bonding mean a lot; it melts down barriers to asking questions and learning from one another. Technical content will bring us so far, but the relationship is the one that will foster long-term collaboration.”
“…python integration is the one I think mentioned the most in the summit, and I learned that we also need to start creating more Python integration-related content for our region.”
Jeremy Tee – SE from Malaysia
“great platform to meet other technical staff, SEs, and developers to get ideas and best practices to approach customer demos”
“Learning about new features of JMP, like the JMP Learnbot, text analysis, and torch deep learning which had actually been brought up by some customers”
“Bayesian optimization / active learning was quite interesting for me. It’s a coming addition to JMP19, which could be an exciting way to approach some customer case studies in the future.”
Kyoko Takenaka - Senior Technical Manager from Japan
“The event provided an excellent opportunity to gather information from the Developers and Product Management teams.”
“We had the chance to connect with people from different regions, which also allowed us to get to know each other better within the Japanese SE team. This was particularly important for those who joined during COVID or later, as many of us typically work from home.”
Hyewon Jung –SE from Korea
“I gained valuable insights and materials to use when meeting customers by learning from customer stories from other regions!”
