Welcome to the JMP Development Update for November 8, 2024!
Hopefully you all saw Myron Chandler’s note that this weekend, Stringbot on the main branch will begin running in AWS. As Myron noted in his email, Stringbot main is migrating from our existing SAS infrastructure (jmptool.na.sas.com) to our JMP AWS space (in this case, jmptoolprod.dev.jmp.com). If all goes well, you shouldn’t notice any real difference, and you should receive the same emails you have always received from Stringbot if your strings in main need attention. If you notice any issues, please report them in JMPTOOL-1183 so we can track and investigate them.
JMP 18.2 will continue to run on jmptool.na.sas.com as we complete work on that branch. Today (11/8/24) is the JMP 18.2 string freeze for developers. Writers will be evaluating strings for consistency next week. Please keep in mind that our first JMP 19 string freeze for developers will be on 12/2/24. Please work with a writer if you need early assistance refining your strings!
JMP 19 EA4 is in the final testing phases after a Python update was required to resolve security flaws in our existing Python version. Thanks to Paul Nelson, Jim Borek, Bob Hickey and QA teams in Cary and Beijing for all the fixes and testing efforts this week! QA expects to sign off on JMP 19 EA4 very early next week.
JMP 18.1.1 was also rebuilt to incorporate these updated Python files. 18.1.1 installer testing efforts are underway and looking good so far! Now that 18.1.1 is frozen, 18.1.2 branching tasks are underway. We anticipate early integration of a fix to summary, and JMP Clinical will also have report changes coming for 18.1.2. Of course, we will be on the lookout for any and all required security fixes.
Thanks very much to Caleb King for presenting on his joint JMP-R project at this week’s JMP Dev meeting! Caleb had briefly introduced this topic in the Discovery in person plenary as he talked about the integration but had more time to spend on it with us. If you missed the meeting, you can find a recording here.
Thanks to Tonya Mauldin for sharing this week’s beta/crash cases with crashes selected!

JMP Development Updates
Technical Support and Engagement
- Wendy:
- Case volume has increased again this week for the Engagement team largely due to an increase in RPS submissions from customers. We are working to detect and prevent multiple submissions, which result in duplicate cases. This week approximately 25% of RPS cases were duplicates.
