Discovery season is truly in high gear, and it’s heartwarming to witness the excitement surrounding it.
Discovery Summit 2024, our flagship event in Cary, was a resounding success. It has been wonderful to observe the high level of engagement our customers have with each other and with us. The meaningful conversations and connections formed at Discovery will undoubtedly foster more profound usage of JMP across the organizations in attendance.
A heartfelt thank you goes out to the events team, development, marketing, and, of course, User Enablement for their fantastic support throughout the event. It was a first-class experience, and every user could see our unwavering commitment to ensuring their success.
Looking ahead, next week brings us Discovery in Tokyo, and the week after that, we will gather with users at Discovery Korea. I have no doubt that those events will enjoy the same kind of success we experienced in the Americas.
Moreover, because Discovery never truly stops, we recently met with the Steering Committee for Discovery Europe to review the paper and poster abstracts and begin the selection process for Discovery Europe in March. With over 100 submissions, the choices have been challenging, and I want to extend my gratitude to the teams in Europe for driving such an impressive turnout. The paper and poster program is the lifeblood of the conference, making it essential to have quality submissions to choose from.
As we approach the end of the year, the departments within User Enablement are diligently working to support our users and drive engagement. Please see their updates below, and don’t hesitate to reach out to the appropriate contact if you have any questions.

Customer Engagement:
- We are preparing for the move of the JMP Student Edition to My JMP. Students, instructors, and academic researchers will continue to validate their academic status through our partner Proxi.id. Check jmp.com/student for the latest instructions. Student Edition downloads eclipsed 26,000 downloads from 1160 universities in 97 different countries since we launched our free offering last November.
Education:
- Please try (and recommend to customers) the new JMP LearnBot add-in, available in the JMP Marketplace. The JMP LearnBot is a chatbot, built using customgpt.ai, and pulling from a knowledge base of JMP learning resource materials including STIPS and other e-courses, documentation, One Page Guides, and the scripting index. Its purpose is to provide step-by-step instructions for performing analyses and creating graphs in JMP and to answer questions about JMP software usage. Give it a try, and leave a review!

Academic:
- JMP participated in INFORMS (Seattle) and AIChE (San Diego) Annual Conferences where we conducted workshops and demos for new and existing customers.
- The 14th annual global faculty use survey is underway which seeks to understand how and why JMP is used in the classroom and for research use and to seek feedback on how we can improve. So far we have heard from over 1400 new faculty about their courses and research which is the highest response rate to date. If you have an interest in learning about academic use at specific universities contact the academic team.
Community:
- Add-ins in the Community’s File Exchange will transition to the JMP Marketplace. If an add-in exists in the Marketplace, a note will be displayed at the top of the Community page along with the link to the location in the Marketplace, e.g.

- There will be a new “waffle” menu in the upper right corner of a page that allows a visitor to quickly navigate other JMP sites, e.g. JMP.com, the JMP Marketplace, My JMP, etc.
