Making JMP help available at dark sites

The Doc Team has been looking into ways to deliver the JMP help to dark sites. During JMP Discovery Summit, Shannon Conners spoke with a customer who works at a dark site, in an effort to understand how he accesses the internet to download JMP and get the doc. Before we spend too much time figuring out a solution, do you know how prevalent dark sites are for our customers? Should finding a solution for them to access the doc be a priority that the Doc Team and possibly R&D work to solve for JMP 19 or beyond?

Virtually all of my Defense customers have some of their JMP software loaded in classified environments, which would match your "dark site" or air-gapped machine scenario.  To activate JMP 18 these customers must download the install files to a DVD - no memory sticks allowed, get the DVD scanned and approved for entry into a SCIF (sensitive compartmented information facility), load onto a computer, then begin the activation and leave the SCIF with a "Request Code," log into MyJMP outside of SCIF to enter the Request Code and receive  a "Response Code" (about 4 or 5 lines of XML) that they must write down and hand carry the Response Code back into the SCIF and enter into the computer on which they want to activate JMP.   AND, we currently cannot tell these customers how frequently they must reauthorize their computer!

I am not sure if our commercial customers call them SCIFs, but they have to go through the same procedure for their air-gapped machines.  Maybe memory sticks are allowed.  Even Defense computers not in classified environments can face a range of firewall restrictions meaning although not completely air-gapped, these machines can't easily connect to all commercial websites.  There are about 500 military bases in the US.  We have close to 3000 users spread across about 100 of these bases.  I would very much like to see a searchable JMP Help system that can be loaded onto an air-gapped computer.

Every customer I have has an air-gapped sites or machines. This is common across biotech, high tech manufacturing, semiconductor, defense and defense-adjacent, as well as other government facilities.
