Is there a preference for the number of files imported by the multiple import file?In semiconductor, during Characterization, they test different parts of the part on different machines / temperatures...
So they have files that are similar by configuration and others that are not, so they use the MFI function to concatenate similar files.
The problem is that they areincreasing their charac coverage, so they end up with more than 120 files, and so they are reaching the limits of the function.

Would it be possible to set this limitation higher? The goal is to avoid the popup as they have additional steps in their script after the importation. They want to avoid human action.
I do not find anything in the preferences.
Today, they cut the data bases in 2 to avoid seeing the problem.
Thank you for your suggestion,
Florence
Re: Is there a preference for the number of files imported by the multiple import file?Hey Florence,
I'm in JMP 18, and I'm not getting the modal popup window when importing more than 120 csvs. Maybe they can fix this by upgrading to JMP 18.
Attaching a script you can use to test this yourself. It creates 128 csv files from the Semiconductor Capability sample data table, then imports them using Multiple File Import.
Cheers, Jordan
Re: Is there a preference for the number of files imported by the multiple import file?Hi Jordan,
I also made the test and I have this message with 18.1 but if there is at least 120files with different header in the folder.
it is the fact to open 120 different files at the same time in JMP that cause the warning...
Re: Is there a preference for the number of files imported by the multiple import file?Interesting. Are they stacking the files during import, or importing them separately? Can they fix this by changing or omitting the headers?
Re: Is there a preference for the number of files imported by the multiple import file?They use multiple import files to process a complete folder. All files with the same header are concatenated directly. The others are processed in a second step.
Re: Is there a preference for the number of files imported by the multiple import file?is there a way in a script to detect a warning box and click ok if it exists? or the warning box stop the script and nothing can be done?
Re: Is there a preference for the number of files imported by the multiple import file?There isn't a way to script a response to the modal dialog. https://community.jmp.com/t5/Discussions/How-to-script-platforms-requiring-modal-dialog-box-input/td-p/46071
I don't see a preference available for avoiding the dialog either. Your customer will need some kind of workaround. Perhaps they know ahead of time which files have similar headers, and they can be requested by name instead of trying the whole folder.
Re: Is there a preference for the number of files imported by the multiple import file?Can you post your test program? I created a test program and see the warning dialog if I click "Import" in the dialog but don't when I import via script
basePath = "$temp\testmfi2";
create directory(basePath);
for(testFile = 1,testFile<200,testFile++,
save text file(basePath || "\\TestImport_" ||char(testFile) || ".txt", "A" || char(testFile) || "\!r\!n" || char(testFile));
);
mfi = Multiple File Import(
