What inspired this Wish List Request?
During a demo, the question came up if one can create cohorts or different treatment groups within JMP Clinical 18.1. I showed Population Flags and Sub-population filters and how they can be used together to create a binary based derived variable. It was a bit cumbersome to do and too many steps. Also, it only allowed a binary flag and could not be automatically run the next time data was refreshed
Please describe the new or improved feature or solution you would like to see.
Would like to be able to create cohorts, custom groups, derived variables in an easy way like the sup-population filter builder kinda like what a column formula can do but without having to create a column formula since these are multi-datatable data sets. Sub-population builder is great for creating where clauses but only good for binary type selections. Also, would like to save this rule or formula so that when a study is refreshed it is automatically run (if chosen so) and the variable gets re-created. Likely to be stored at the subject level datasets like DM or ADSL (TADSL table in JMP Clinical).
What would the value be to you and/or other users if this new feature is provided?
Expand the exploration capabilties of JMP Clinical to look at different ad hoc defined cohorts/populations/treatment groups to find outliers/signals in the data.
Is this an external customer request?
Yes, Caribou Bio
Is there a competitive software package that has this feature or solution that we should be aware of?
Any scripting languages can be used to manually create such variables, but not aware of any drag and drop/non-code solution that does this
Will this impact a renewal, expansion, or adoption at a customer, and does this put an account at risk if we do not address this?
Not likely, but would make JMP Clinical more appeal to small to medium size Pharma who do not have any or a lot of programming staff.
