What inspired this Wish List Request?
Working on some materials for JMP Live presentations, I realized that it's possible to get just about everything you'd need about JMP Live report content, except for any information about the data table it's referencing or publish a report using an already published data table.
Please describe the new or improved feature or solution you would like to see.
Add a << Get Data message to the options for JMP Live Reports. The message will return the ID for the data table(s) referenced in the report. This will also require an update to the << As Scriptable command to include that in the payload for a report.
Also add capabilities to the publish command to publish a report and link it to a data table already published to JMP Live. (which would also require the above methods to get the data table unique ID)
What would the value be to you and/or other users if this new feature is provided?
Seems like a bit of an oversight and will make it easier to manage/deploy content to JMP Live. As it stands now you have to either search for the data table (requiring a title or user name for the publisher), know the ID directly, or go to the website to get it. There is also no method for linking additional reports to a single data table (possible through the GUI) - resulting potential redundancy and bloat on the data server.
Is this an external customer request?
Not from my customers, but it's only a matter of time.
Is there a competitive software package that has this feature or solution that we should be aware of?
N/A
Will this impact a renewal, expansion, or adoption at a customer, and does this put an account at risk if we do not address this?
It could have a minor impact on JMP Live renewal probabilities by making it less convenient for our power users to automate activities.
