Welcome to the JMP Development Update for September 20, 2024!
With ~5 weeks to go before JMP 18.1.1 is planned to freeze, please be on the lookout for major showstopper bugs impacting JMP source code that cannot wait to be fixed in 18.2. Security champions are reviewing the latest Snyk scan results to identify any Critical or High vulnerabilities that would require third party library updates in the 18.1.1 dot-dot release track. As a reminder, JMP development managers must approve all changes prior to integration into 18.1.1, and any fix requests must fall into one of the following categories: security fixes to third party libraries, serious numeric bugs, widespread crashes, and major issues holding up deployment of JMP at important customer sites.
We have now reached our freeze date for JMP 19 EA3! Jim will be branching code and creating installers for testing next week. Thanks to everyone for updating your JMP 19 feature pages! As a reminder, feature page updates are due by Monday 9/23 at 9 am, and videos are due to Mia by the end of the day on Tuesday 9/24.
Speaking of new JMP 19 features, David White presented on the new JMP 19 data grid at the JMP Dev meeting on Thursday. If you missed the live session, you can find a recording here. Thanks very much for the active chat and feedback shared during the meeting – I know Dave and Mandy (who’s been testing this and other new table features) very much appreciated it!
Thanks very much to Tonya Mauldin for sharing this week’s beta tracks with crashes selected!

Glad to help the developers so much with this and hoping that if a user finds something, it might match up to known problems. Worked on data a bit – using Workflow and trying the new grid – hoping to use a fun example for EA3 videos I need to make – one for Column Tags in 19, with the new grid, one with Workflow builder and the new Find/Replace dialog that you can use to edit a workflow more efficiently. Need to write up those examples, a journal and update the feature pages.
