What inspired this Wish List Request?
Multiple requests from customers where their SOP for license administration is via Active Directory
Please describe the new or improved feature or solution you would like to see.
Enable MyJMP user lists to be managed (add/remove new users) via Active Directory support.
What would the value be to you and/or other users if this new feature is provided?
IT teams that are tasked with managing the JMP user pool generally have workflows already in place to authorize/remove users
Is this an external customer request?
Most recently - GSK. With additional inquires from Kimberly Clark, Idexx, Takeda, and Thermofisher.
Is there a competitive software package that has this feature or solution that we should be aware of?
N/A
Will this impact a renewal, expansion, or adoption at a customer, and does this put an account at risk if we do not address this?
It's an ease of use feature that will make it easier for our customer admin's to quickly deploy current stock license pools.
Yes, we've heard this.
There are a couple of considerations here:
- It would be an expense for us to develop and support with an unknown benefit to revenue to offset.
- It would also open us up to automation of rapid changes in authorization which could be used to abuse our license.
We will continue to evaluate this request as we let the current model mature and make incremental improvements to its usability.
@Jeff_Perkinson - maybe restricting the capability to accounts that have an ELA would be an answer there. It could be positioned as providing an additional benefit.
For total employee license agreements we already offer a domain authorization which removes the management task altogether by automatically authorizing any one with an email address in the designated domain(s).
For other, limited enterprise license agreements this might be a consideration. Thanks!
