But the JSL code is very concise.

Most likely there can be differences and it might be possible that JMP's multiple file import could be optimized as it is fairly new

Which Python and JSL script/code did you use to test?
Did you test on small files? Large files? Mixed file sizes?
Did you test on different file amounts? 1 file? 2 file? 200 files? 10000 files?
How big are the differences?

The main thing is to download 5000 small JSON data in about 10 seconds.
