What inspired this Wish List Request?
Three items here all related to DSE.
1. Currently Design Space Explorer will not run if the user attempts to run it on more than 12 columns. And often it, JMP will crash when attempting to run it with more than 12 columns.
2. Set a desired in spec portion that the user wants, and DSE would automatically go to the optimal solution without having to repeatedly click Move Inward.
3. Allow the user to be able to lock a Min or Max value on column(s) of interest such that if you click move inward or move outward, the locked Min/Max values don't change.
Please describe the new or improved feature or solution you would like to see.
1. If the user has hardware resources capable of rendering DSE on more than 12 columns, there should be no software limitation.
2. A field where the desired in-spec portion (or volume portion) can be entered and DSE will automatically go to the optimal settings without needing to click Move Inward repeatedly.
3. An option to lock Min or Max values on column(s) of interest. Some limits cannot be tightened but those columns are needed to model the response.
What would the value be to you and/or other users if this new feature is provided?
1. Tesla is heavily using DSE on models with many features (more than 12 columns). The 12 column limitation is limiting the value they are getting from JMP Pro 18. They are deploying JMP Pro 18 in a server environment to handle big data models with many rows/columns, but the limitations in DSE are creating a negative user experience.
2. Makes DSE more efficient and easier to use
3. Makes DSE more customizable to user requirements.
Is this an external customer request?
Yes, this is from Tesla. Specifically George Li who is a licensed JMP Pro 18 user. See above.
Is there a competitive software package that has this feature or solution that we should be aware of?
No
Will this impact a renewal, expansion, or adoption at a customer, and does this put an account at risk if we do not address this?
Potentially impact JMP Pro renewal as they are applying DSE to neural net models trained in JMP Pro with 40+ columns.
