With the discontinuation of new sales of the current JMP Genomics, JMP 17 and JMP Pro 17 are equipped with new and improved features related to genome analysis. Among these, we will introduce some notable analytical features through demonstrations. We will introduce features such as creating a volcano plot to visualize differences in gene expression intensity against phenotype levels, principal component analysis that supports wide data and missing value imputation, hierarchical cluster analysis that speeds up analysis of large-scale data, multivariate embedding that displays high-dimensional multivariate data such as genetic markers in low dimensions (two or three dimensions), and marker statistics that add annotation tables to genetic marker data to evaluate data before analysis.
After completing his master's degree in information engineering at Toyohashi University of Technology in 1988, he worked at Motorola/Freescale Semiconductor, where he was involved in defect analysis, yield and quality improvement, and a research laboratory in Texas. He then participated in product launch projects and worked as a senior principal engineer, solving problems at factories around the world. After the Sendai factory closed in 2011, he became a special lecturer at Toyohashi University of Technology and engaged in the development of insertion-type nerve electrodes using crystal growth. He assumed his current position in 2017.
