In graduate school, someone who is not familiar with SQL needed to handle big data, so I tried the above method.
This time, with the aim of improving the information-related skills of graduate students, we obtained only the case of a Buffalo NAS, Linkstation410, and installed Linux Debian 10.5. After that, we set up MariaDB (MYSQL compatible) on the NAS and transferred 50 million pieces of ACCESS-based emergency medical data from a Windows PC to MariaDB. Finally, we connected to MariaDB on the NAS from the Query Builder of JMP Pro15.1.0 on a PC and performed analysis. Since the NAS used in this method is small (640g), it is also possible to provide a data server environment by courier to graduate students working remotely.
In this report, we will cover the technical know-how and operational considerations from the NAS case to assembling a MYSQL server and integrating it with JMP.
