Data analysis cases using JMP were mainly provided by the R&D department for new product development in the manufacturing industry or the quality and technology departments of the manufacturing site. However, JMP's diverse and convenient functions are widely used in various departments such as marketing, human resources, finance, sales, and service support as well as manufacturing and R&D. In this presentation, we would like to share a case of using JMP in decision-making in the sales sector that is more advanced than the 2022 presentation materials. Compared to researchers and engineers working in manufacturing and research institutes, salespeople often lack experience or knowledge in statistics or data analysis. However, we would like to share through cases that you can make upgraded decision-making and problem-solving by utilizing various functions of JMP that are easy to use. Major cases in the sales sector include 1) creating a market map using internal and external data, 2) setting an appropriate price range through multiple regression analysis, 3) analyzing customer purchase patterns using a graph builder, and 4) selecting KFS (Key Success Factor) through machine learning. I think the case of the sales department is more meaningful in that it grafts simple and easy analysis techniques that are necessary for the sales field, rather than using difficult analysis tools. I hope that there will be many more cases of decision-making using various JMP data analysis in the sales field.
