Level: All
When we, the JMP development team, develop analytical capabilities, we must decide which of the following we prioritize:
- Building muscle makes JMP stronger
- Making JMP sexier
- JMP eases user pain points (reduces user frustration and burden)
Some of the longer English words that start with "A" are anabolic (a muscle-building agent), aphrodisiac (aphrodisiac), and analgesic (painkiller). Which of these three should we aim for? The speaker believes we should aim for "analgesic." He believes that "analgesic" should be the central driving force behind the development of JMP.
Of course, these three are not mutually exclusive. Adding sexy, powerful features can sometimes ease the pain. But "painkillers" are important because pain paralyzes us and demotivates us. Pain stops us in our tracks, preventing us from fully understanding what the data is telling us.
