In the manufacturing industry, measurements are performed in various situations, including process control. For example, if measurements are not performed accurately, it can be difficult to determine whether measurement variability is due to the measurement system or the process. So, how can we investigate the measurement accuracy of a measurement system? Measurement system analysis (MSA) is useful in such situations. Measurement system analysis includes evaluations of bias, stability, and linearity, but this presentation will focus on Gauge R&R analysis and EMP analysis, which analyze measurement system variability. JMP allows you to plan measurement system analysis experiments and output analysis results. We will also introduce several new features and changes related to measurement system analysis added in JMP 17.
