A cornerstone of JMP Technical Support, Duane's unwavering commitment and exceptional leadership have left a mark on the company and its users.
Duane’s journey at SAS began more than three decades ago, and throughout his tenure, he has consistently demonstrated a passion for helping others. His team, under his guidance, has become renowned for their expertise, responsiveness, and dedication to providing outstanding customer service to JMP users.

He brings us all together as a family and makes work enjoyable. He is a great leader, skilled statistician, and truly a role model for all of us. Wendy Murphrey will lead the charge
Duane leaves behind an extraordinary legacy at JMP that will be felt for years to come. Following Duane’s retirement, Wendy Murphrey will lead JMP Technical Support.
“I’ve had the honor of working with Duane for many years,” Wendy (@Wendy_Murphrey) said. “During that time, we’ve had many good laughs over the occasional outrageous customer request! And he’s talked us off the ledge at times, too. His many kindnesses, from taking care of plants to bringing meals when we welcomed a new member of the family, will never be forgotten. I will always be grateful to Duane for his leadership and guidance – but mostly his friendship. I look forward to hearing all about his new adventures and hobbies!”
As Duane embarks on this new chapter of his life, we extend our heartfelt gratitude for his invaluable contributions to JMP. His legacy will continue to inspire us all.

I saw a few people with tears in their eyes at the retirement celebration. That tells you a lot about the kind of colleague Duane has been. There was sincere sadness to see him leave, but lots of happiness for all of the new people who will get to meet and benefit from Duane's kindness in the coming years.

Best wishes to an amazing manager, mentor, and friend in the roughly 2.5 years since I had the good fortune to join the JMP Tech Support team. Like an unsung hero, Duane is an expert at 'dropping in' with minimal noise, and quickly finding ways to get it done on the line of least resistance that meets the line of maximum impact. He will ride off quietly into the sunset but has made an indelible and profound mark most of all on the people he managed and led over the years. I will miss his great troubleshooting mind, his meticulous yet easygoing demeanor, and most of all, the opportunity to learn continuously from and through him (in our 'working 1-on-1's), how to negotiate between the analytical technical details and the "what is needed in this moment" in relation to our customers.
