Recently, there has been a lot of interest in big data and artificial intelligence in the manufacturing industry under the name of smart factory or digital transformation. This interest stems from the expectation that artificial intelligence, which learns operations from a large amount of process data for the purpose of reducing defects or reducing production costs, will be able to perform better and optimal operations on its own. This presentation introduces the process of developing and applying artificial intelligence to actual production processes in the steel industry as a case study. As a developer who designed and developed the algorithm, I will explain why analysis software such as JMP is still needed in the development process of artificial intelligence and in the management process after development. This presentation is significant in that it suggests that artificial intelligence, which can be recognized as a single solution developed for a specific purpose, requires continuous post-management, thereby enabling organizations that will perform similar tasks in the future to establish proper plans.
