JSL Question: How to select all continuous columns except date formatted columns?Hi,
I would like to select specific columns in a dataset by JSL and group them.
The selected columns need to have a X in the name -> Done
The selected columns need to have less than 5 category if it is a nominal variable -> Done
The selected columns is not a date if it is a continuous column -> I didn't find a way to test the format. Does anyone have an idea how to test the format? Once I use Get Format, I'm stuck for the comparison with a Date or the "Best" Format....
it is probably a stupid question.
Thank a lot for all your suggestions!
Florence
Re: JSL Question: How to select all continuous columns except date formatted columns?Hi @flo_kussener,
If I'm understanding your question correctly, you are looking for a method to test if a column is a date format or not. Is that right? If so, one way I found to do this is to test if the column is numeric and has something other than a numeric input type:
If(
And(
:DateColumn << Get Data Type == "Numeric",
Not( Eval( Arg( :DateColumn << Get Input Format ) ) == "Numeric" )
),
doSomething
);
It's not that pretty, but it gets around having to test if <
