Summary
The JMP multiple-file import capability allows you to load dozens or hundreds of files and concatenate them into a single JMP data table — all without scripting. You can filter files by size, date, name and type. A common use-case for this is concerting folder files that you might want to perform text exploration on — a folder full of repair transcripts for example, with one repair per file. The import that I want to accomplish is mapped each document to a cell in a JMP data table as a pre-processing step before text analysis. With multiple file import, you can choose to import to a single column making this once time-consuming data pre-processing step easy.
Performing web importing is where this feature really shines. he 'Multiple File Import' found in JMP 14 is a huge time saver in that it imported all the data, skipping the nuisance info at the top of the data files (website info and web page headers) and automatically stacked the files into the individual and group levels.
Video Script
To import multiple files in JMP 1st place the files that you want to import in the same directory.
Multiple File Import can also import only one file.
In this demo, I use the import data found in the JMP Samples/Import Data folder.
Under the File menu I'll select Import Multiple Files in Windows.
[On Screen] File > Open Multiple (Macintosh).
Browse to select Samples then Import Data folder.
All of the files show up in the preview window.
Now we need to set what type of files to import from that folder.
I'll choose Select File by Name or Extension and I'll type in UN*.csv; , then press Enter.
If I do add different file types, my Files preview window will adjust to show which files that will be imported.
Keep in mind you can also add multiple names or Data types.
I'll toggle on Stack Similar File Types, Keep Data type toggled on.
Now I'll select Import.
And the result is 1 stacked data table from those selected data tables.
Again, you can save the import settings as a script and then run the script when the data is updated in the future.
Remeber you can practice this with the Included Import Data folder in the JMP Samples folder. Thanks for choosing JMP.

Thanks for watching. I think there are fewer options because the directive is multiple files, not CSV pre-formatting.
I like your inquiry and will ask more about this and possibly a feature request.

Thanks for sharing.
Seems there are less options in "Import Multiple Files" for CSV format as compare to single CSV file open
e.g. subset (seems it's embeded for CSV opening format setting)
usually will use workaround solution to delect unnecessary rows either using script or manual
Just asking, Is there any directly way to use same csv opening setting in "Import Multiple Files" (referring to subset function specially) ?
thank you
