In the first half of the year, you set your individual business goals, as well as your development goals. As we enter Q3, now is a great time for a mid-year check-in conversation with your manager to revisit these goals. You can discuss whether anything has changed, make note of challenges you may be facing, your work experience and workload, and recognize what’s working well. Regular check-ins with your manager help you stay informed and aligned on your goals and performance throughout the year.
Curiosity drives innovation
It’s important to share what you are curious about and what energizes you, so you and your manager stay connected on the things that matter to you. As you prepare for your check-in conversation, think about:
- What motivates you?
- What parts of your job do you enjoy most?
- What projects give you energy?
- Where do you get to unleash your curiosity and passion?
- What’s something new you’d like to learn?
Write these things down and bring them with you to discuss in your check-in.
